As I was making supper tonight, B went to the front window to see why there were flashing red and blue lights. It looked like the police had pulled someone over in front of our house for speeding. B was happy...he's been complaining since we moved here that too many people go speeding past our place.
As we watched 3 people got out of the pulled over car and the guy started waving his fists at the female officer. She finally got hold of him and they scuffled. We thought he was going to take her down...I was ready to call 911 to get some backup for her, but she gained the upper hand, handcuffed him and put him in the back of the cruiser! Another police car came with 2 officers then a third police car drove by, but kept going because everything seemed under control.
We were expecting our daughter, son-in-law and grandsons to stop in but we didn't want to put the porch light on till after the police left. Wonder if we'll read about it in the local paper next week???

Moon, Mars & Venus
On Monday there was the most beautiful red sunset I've seen in a long, long time, but we were in the car and I didn't have my camera or IPod with me. Last night (Friday) we were coming home after dark and saw the moon. As soon as we got home I went in and got my camera. I just got this camera from AirMiles and have only taken less than a dozen pictures to try it out, so I'm not really sure how to work it. After a couple of shots I got these two pictures...I couldn't believe it!

Keeping Busy
Today we went to "Food & Friends". We meet at a local restaurant and have soup, salad and a sandwich for lunch. Sometimes there is a guest speaker...today it was a lady from a local care home, a few weeks ago, it was a lady from Service Canada, telling about 0AS, GIS and other pension info. We also did a couple of "puzzles" where we had to match famous fictional couples. On the other side of the paper there were 12 boxes with words inside them and we had to figure out what they meant...for example one box had LOI'MVE in it...if you look carefully it says I'M and it's inside the word LO...VE, so the answer is....I'm in Love! Try this one.... tiVALne.
After lunch we went to the pool for a swim and waterwalking. After being there for awhile there was an obnoxious bull-horn sound and the waves started up...can't believe the power of those waves and all the muscles it uses for you to stay upright in the water!!!....good workout!
Tonight we had ALPHA...a course to learn about Christianity. We are table assistants and help others understand the message of the videos. We also get a lovely dinner, so it's a very enjoyable evening!

Valentine's Day 2015
Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day.
Ours started off with me trying to make heart shaped waffles for breakfast...the first batch stuck, but I persevered and finally got breaky on the table.
Today I marinated some steaks we got on sale at Safeway yesterday then cooked them in my new FryAir. Considering I wasn't sure what I was doing, they turned out really good...mind you, I think the glass of wine might have helped!!!

Home Show
Last weekend we went to the Home Show at the Tradex Center. We were mainly looking for ideas and contractors for landscaping and building a cover for our trailer. We came across a booth demoing FryAir...they were cooking chicken wings and B tried one...feed him...if he likes it...he'll buy it!!!! Needless to say we now have a FryAir!!! We did some appies on it the first night then did some kebobs last night...turned out pretty good, considering I didn't know what I was doing. This thing came with a very tiny book, that doesn't tell you much, so I Googled it and found out a little bit more, but it was mostly by hook or by crook!!!! I swear you get more detailed instructions with a curling iron than you do with anything else!!!!!

Puzzle Corner
In the basement of our new house is an alcove in which I set up a table to do jigsaw puzzles or play games on. It's been working out really great! Here are pictures of the three puzzles we've done so far.
I heard the groundhog saw his shadow today so we'll have six more weeks of winter to work on more puzzles!!!

Shadowlands
Saturday afternoon we went into the Abby Arts Theatre to see "Shadowlands". It's the story of a part of C.S.Lewis' life. We used to go to Vancouver Playhouse on a regular basis but quit going a few years ago, so it was really nice to go to a live performance again!! The theatre is quite close to our new home and has good parking so we're thinking of subscribing to season's tickets...we'll see. We met up with a couple we know from our former church so we watched the play together then went to a Greek restaurant for dinner. Had a great time visiting and catching up!
After church today we came home then later watched the Superbowl football game. Unfortunately Seattle lost...but it was a close game!
Today is also the one year anniversary of us taking possession of this house. We still hadn't sold the old house, so for three months we slowly moved a lot of stuff out here and stayed here for a few days at a time then actually gave up possession of the old house and moved here in early May.
