After we left Seaside we drove down the Oregon Coast...the breakers are so beautiful as they crash onto the shore. Stopped at
Tillamook Cheese Factory to watch them make cheese and get an ice cream cone. Got to Lincoln city and went to the Elks campground to meet up with our friends. We'd met these folks about 16 years ago as we toured the factory where our Prowler trailer was built and we've kept in touch ever since. They are delightful people.
They have a group that meet at the Elks campground 4 times a year and do crafts. This is the first time we've been able to get down, and I wasn't really sure what I was getting into...the only instructions I had was to bring some
scissors. There's a closed in gazebo where they had tables set up, coffee pot on, goodies on one table and a couple tables for crafts...we were making cards. Had great fun with the cards, potluck dinner, games and going to the local casino for a wonderful breakfast buffet. When I get a chance to download the pictures I'll post some.
Left Sunday morning, drove through Portland and pulled into a rest area in Washington. B said he'd like to get through Seattle so we slept for a couple of hours, got up and drove through Seattle at 11pm...great way to beat the traffic!!! Pulled into the
Wal-Mart in
Marysville about 1:30 am and went to bed...lots of other
RV's in the parking lot and the store is open 24 hours so we felt quite safe. That's the nice thing about towing your home behind the truck!!! Spent 3 nights at Mt. Vernon Thousand Trails and took advantage of the promotions at the casino nearby...I like it when they give me free money to gamble with!! Got home yesterday
rejuvenated but tired.
Today was laundry, unpacking, paying bills and B washed and waxed the trailer. Now we're tired and can't wait to get away again!!!
